Multimedia Samples 2007 to 2011

Multimedia Samples 2007 to 2011
These are some samples of my multimedia work from 2007 to 2011. Created as part of a comprehensive set of training animations, illustrations, and simulations, they were based off of four different aircraft over six years of work. Art was one step of a production pipeline for flight training, which included teams of subject matter experts, writers, instructional designers, and programmers. All of the 3D work shown here was fully articulated, allowing programmers to create a front end for interactive simulations and quizzes.

Statistics
• Team Members = 4
• Complete to-scale Cockpits = 3
• Total Animations = 3000k plus
• Time in Development for each animation = 2 days or less
• Hours of Penguins of Madagascar watched by team during lunch = 1/2 per day

All of the work shown below (except for the T6 model) was drawn, modeled, mapped, and animated by me, including the background.
Animation and particle effects in Lightwave. Videos like this would be programmed into the courseware with narration and text.
Images Below
A sampling of 3D objects I built. For most development, our team collaborated very closely, with everyone contributing some level of work to each object. These are objects I modeled solo from our photo reference. Quixel and Substance didn't exist; all textures were designed from our onsite photoshoots.

Often, as the 3D objects would be built to scale, we would assemble them into our full-aircraft model. All moveable parts could be accessed individually by the programmers depending on training needs.
The earliest animations I created were schematics built in Illustrator and animated in Flash, now Adobe Animate. This illustrates hydraulics and electrical systems within an engine.
Adobe Animate was also used for less technical illustrations, like this Flight Chart example.
This video is a sample of multiple animations combined into one. 2D animation for Flight Displays and Instruments were used as animated surface maps for 3D objects.
We would frequently use Adobe Premiere to edit together different renderings. This was useful for combining interior/exterior shots, or instrument panel readings. To-scale building models and terrain based on USGS elevation data were practices I introduced to the team. They matched the terrain and runway layout of the training location.
